  • Use of funds: expanding the global operating and customer-service network, regional service hubs, and data collection and training for end-to-end autonomous driving models.

Neolix, the Beijing company building driverless delivery vans, said Tuesday it has closed a Series E round of nearly $400 million — co-led by Boyu Capital and a national-level fund — to take its unmanned delivery business global. It is the largest single funding round in China's autonomous-driving sector in 2026.

The round brings Neolix's cumulative fundraising to more than $1.4 billion, according to the company, as reported by Bloomberg. New investors include Alibaba Group's AEF NextGen Hong Kong fund, Monolith Management, Granite Asia Capital and Temasek-backed Vertex Growth, while existing shareholders including Stone Venture and Trustar Capital followed on. Neolix did not disclose its valuation.

The round in detail

The round was co-led by Boyu Capital and a national-level fund. Jiemian, citing people familiar with the investment, identified the fund as China's National Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Fund — its first foray into autonomous driving and unmanned logistics, per a person familiar with the matter, signaling that state-backed industrial capital is endorsing this commercialization path. China Renaissance acted as sole financial adviser.

New investors include Alibaba's AEF NextGen Hong Kong fund, Monolith Management, Granite Asia Capital, Temasek's Vertex Growth, GAC Capital, GGV Capital, China Vision Capital and CP Robot. Existing shareholders Stone Venture, CITIC Capital, Yizhuang Guotou, CDH VGC and Gaorong Ventures followed on, according to BigGo Finance's coverage of the announcement.

The money trail

The Series E follows a Series D of more than $600 million in 2025 — itself the largest private financing ever recorded in China's autonomous-driving sector at the time. Cumulative fundraising since the company's 2018 founding has now topped 10 billion yuan (about $1.5 billion), the highest in the unmanned delivery vehicle industry, according to BigGo Finance.

Bloomberg reports Neolix operates more than 30,000 vehicles in over 300 cities across 20 countries — the company claims the world's largest deployment of Level 4 autonomous delivery vehicles.

Where the money goes

Neolix said the proceeds will fund expansion of its global operating and customer-service network, alongside investment in data collection and training for end-to-end autonomous driving models. The goal: safer vehicles, better performance, and lower lifetime operating costs. Regional service hubs in major overseas markets are the first priority, according to coverage of the announcement.

The platform wars move to the pavement

The cap table tells its own story. Tencent took a strategic stake in the 2025 Series D; now Alibaba has joined through its AEF NextGen Hong Kong fund, and Didi is also on the register. Three internet platform giants have now successively bet on the same unmanned delivery company — a sign of intensifying competition for a foothold in smart logistics.

What happens next

The stated priorities are global expansion and the data-training loop behind the end-to-end large model that powers the fleet. With a national AI fund co-leading and the largest 2026 round in China's autonomous-driving sector, Neolix has the war chest to test whether autonomous delivery can scale as a business — not just a pilot.
