HCLTech signs a Global Premier Partnership with Anthropic: Claude goes inside BigFix, AppScan — and a new Anthropic Business Unit
HCLTech announced a Global Premier Partnership with Anthropic on October 12, 2026: a dedicated Anthropic Business Unit and Center of Excellence, Claude and Claude Code embedded in HCLSoftware products like BigFix and AppScan, and governed agentic AI rollouts targeting banking, healthcare, telecoms and manufacturing.
HCLTech announced today a Global Premier Partnership with Anthropic to accelerate enterprise adoption of agentic AI — with safety, cybersecurity and governance as the explicit selling points. The deal covers both halves of HCLTech's business: services teams building industry solutions on Claude, Cowork and Claude Code, and its software division, HCLSoftware, embedding Anthropic's capabilities directly into enterprise products.
The headline move is organizational. HCLTech is standing up a dedicated Anthropic Business Unit with a Center of Excellence (CoE) to build agentic AI solutions, run secure sandbox environments for enterprise Claude deployments via Forward Deployed Engineers, and help clients adopt AI-native engineering practices, workforce training, and the organizational capabilities needed to operate agentic AI safely at scale.

The ISV play: Claude inside BigFix, AppScan and Actian
On the product side, HCLSoftware becomes an Anthropic ISV partner — embedding Claude capabilities into select enterprise products across cybersecurity, automation, business-process and application development. The named targets: HCL BigFix (endpoint management), HCL AppScan (application security testing), and the Actian AI analyst.
Meanwhile, HCLTech is folding Claude and Claude Code into AI Force, its proprietary agentic software-engineering platform, targeting IT support, code remediation and digital employee services — with policy guardrails, exception handling and human oversight for high-impact changes, according to the release.
Why governance is the pitch
The announcement leans hard on the trust angle. Anthropic co-founder and president Daniela Amodei said AI's usefulness depends on its trustworthiness, and that the partnership will allow Claude to be securely integrated into sensitive systems across banking, healthcare, telecoms and manufacturing.
HCLTech CEO and managing director C Vijayakumar said the combination — the scale of a global systems integrator plus the depth of an independent software vendor — gives the company a rare advantage in securely engineering and deploying agentic AI at scale.

Why it matters
This is the pattern defining enterprise AI in 2026: model labs race to productize agentic systems, and global integrators race to become the governed delivery layer between those models and regulated industries. The partnerships that win are the ones that can answer the compliance question before the capability question.
HCLTech — listed as HCLTECH on both the NSE and BSE — is betting that a dedicated Anthropic unit, sandbox-first deployments, and Claude embedded inside the endpoint and security tools enterprises already run will make that answer easier to buy. Whether "premier partnership" translates into real deployment velocity, of course, will be decided by the first wave of FDE-led rollouts, not the press release.
