RapidCanvas, a managed AI execution company that pairs an agentic AI platform with field engineers, announced on October 16, 2026 that it has raised $29 million in Series B funding led by Vertex Ventures SEA & India, with participation from Hitachi Ventures. The round brings the company's total funding to $52.5 million and follows eightfold growth in annual recurring revenue over the past six quarters.
The round
Existing investors Accel, Peak XV Partners, Valley Capital Partners and Titanium Ventures also participated, according to Tech in Asia. Piyush Kharbanda, General Partner at Vertex Ventures SEA & India, pointed to customer pull as the reason his firm led the round: enterprises keep expanding into new use cases and functions, and the field engineers own the outcome end to end.
Founded in 2021, RapidCanvas sells a hybrid model rather than a pure software subscription or a services contract. Its field AI engineers learn each customer's business processes, design and build custom AI applications, and stay accountable for those applications' outcomes after delivery. The target: enterprises with $100 million to $10 billion in annual revenue that have AI budgets and C-suite mandates, but no proven path from pilot to production. The company, recognized as a top 5 Data Science and Machine Learning platform by G2, says more than 75 enterprises across manufacturing, financial services, retail, business services and infrastructure have made 1.4 million AI-led decisions this year with applications built on its platform.

The three products
The RapidCanvas AI platform has three pieces. The Enterprise Context Engine captures how a business process actually runs — requirements, tribal knowledge, data schemas, decision history — and the enterprise owns that context. The Visual Development Canvas lets AI engineers build custom solutions quickly, drawing on a skills library that gives each new project a 60% head start from proven, benchmarked code. The Operational Harness manages and governs the solutions once they are deployed in production.
The thesis, in co-founder and CEO Rahul Pangam's framing: "AI can be the great equalizer, but so far its biggest wins have gone to the Fortune 100. We want to give every enterprise the same opportunity." He also argues the hardest remaining problem is not starting an AI build but getting it into production reliably and safely — the gap between services firms that charge millions and take months, and do-it-yourself platforms that demand specialized AI talent most companies don't have. After conversations with more than 400 business leaders, the company found most C-level executives expect a return on AI within six to 12 months, yet very few have moved beyond pilots.
Where the money goes
RapidCanvas will grow its go-to-market teams and expand its network of private equity and advisory partners, which bring managed AI execution to portfolio companies and clients, reports The SaaS News. It will also grow its field AI engineering team across the U.S., Brazil and India, and invest in all three products: deepening the Enterprise Context Engine, growing the skills library behind the Visual Development Canvas, and strengthening governance in the Operational Harness.
Radhika Ananth, Head of India and Investment Director at Hitachi Ventures, framed the bet in economic terms: what starts as custom delivery becomes increasingly repeatable and scalable, shifting the model from services economics toward software economics — the core of Hitachi Ventures' "AInomics" thesis. And with more than 40% of RapidCanvas customers now running multiple AI use cases in production, the round is a wager that the next phase of enterprise AI belongs to whoever can deliver outcomes at scale, not demos.
